Interesting looking rock. Good start. Nice idea with using electrical tank to prevent algae growth on water lines.:)

Yeah, I have a bundle of chaeto algae I will put in the sump and have a light on it, so I covered all clear lines with tape or a black plastic covering I bought

Thanks... I recommend a boost pump, I have this one:

Puratek Small Booster Pump w/ Transformer For Up To 100 GPD RO or RO/DI Unit

... I haven't done the math but my system is rated about what you have with a certain max psi, which my pump may exceed a bit.

As for the rock... I got a great deal from a guy that was tearing down his 120 gallon build: http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-of...s-120-gal-reef-trials-tribulations-55064.html

Well here it is about 1130am Japanese standard time, I quit adding water to the sump around 5am and the water in the tank is still quite cloudy from the addition of the sand :-/...I was hoping to finish adding the water and start the pump to op check the system and avoid getting sand in the sump as much as possible in the beginning. :-/

alright... here it is about two days since I filled tank and I am still waiting for the water to clear up from the addition of the sand... according to my friend, I should of washed the sand... who knew... I have started emptying water from the tank and will re-add it to clear this out faster...

Just make sure the junction at the bottom of the standpipe is well sealed.

If it's not, and leaks even a little, the water will all drain from the tank.

A friends 75g tank was drilled the same way and somehow the seal leaked a little between the bulkhead and the stand pipe. Practically all of his 75g drained into his sump. And the rest that didn't fit in his 60g sump wound up on the floor and in the carpet.

BB? whats that? now you suggest cleaning sand as my friend, this is a clear contradiction to 2 other posts that said that not cleaning the sand was fine... forums? who knows, lol

I ended up , leaving it alone and it cleared up just fine, it may have taken a week or so, definitely not two weeks
