To solve the lighting dilema between MH or T5, you could just get both. They have MH fixtures with T5 bulbs around them. I actually think that's what Otty's got on his tank...hey bubba chime in would ya :)

Not sure on how the prices would go though. Hanging some MH retros from inside of a canopy would be a good route to go.

I have a 5 ft long 150 and I have 2 x 175 MH with 4 x 96 watt pc and my stonies on the bottom are growing great. I also have 2 4 inch fans 1 in and 1 out and heat isn't an issue. May be something you want to think about doing.

You know I was thinking that, and I just went to the LFS and inquired about it, also to pick up 2 more Korilla 2's they they just got in. I talked to a different guy and he said the same.
It was a new guy that told me that, figures.

Looking great! Cannot wait to see how you rockscape that beast!. I am also partial to MH's. Check out building your own setup piece by piece. Lumenbright reflectors are AWESOME, can nearly double the useful light coming from your bulbs. Are you planning on building a hood, or do you already have one? or will you be going open top.

i cant wait to see how the skimmer performs.

not just unscented but unscented all natural and made from clay. i don't know if i would try it my self. it was big in the earliest days of planted tanks(fresh). but personally i would just use sand in my fuge, i heard people having problem with white mold looking stuff coming from live fuge mud

I got it from e-bay. Believe it or not, it was 114.00 with the shipping!! Its an alleged 100 gal a day unit, but its putting out i'd say about 60. Eith way, Worth the price. My PPm's were 82 before, and are at 0 with the unit.

As for either open tank or a hood, No hood, and I found out they don't make it anymore, so it would have to be a DIY if I did. If I go with MH lights, then it will be open, but I am really leaning twords the T5 HO due to heat/price/electric bill issue. I realize I can't keep many hard corals at the bottom with it, but I'll adjust.
