No kidding.. I just ordered mine on ebay today.. It was a little more, but I had them customize it a bit. Instead of one DI filter, I wanted 2, pressure gauge, longer lines, all clear canisters for the main filters & DI, 4 gal pressure tank, plus a HM-2 TDS Dual Monitor. It was a 9 dollar difference between the 1 & the 2, so what the heck. I just have to build my sump now. Grr. Hey how big is your sump tank?? I'm in the process of building a new 90gal setup.

Well, added the sand last night and I have this foam stuff on the water. Any idea what it is? Should I scoop it out?..

    I run 3x400w MH's and T12 Super Actinic 420nm lights.
Make sure you don't trust what LFS tell you. Do some research and make sure it is right. If you would have listened to him you would have thrown about $60 to $80 down the drain.
That would be 100gpd with 74 degree water and I would bet your is around 45 to 50. That is why you don't get that much out. If you want to heat your incoming water then you will. :-/

Its a 55 gal that I had lying around. I set it up so that the return is in the middle so I can control the flow through the fuge. Only one problem I just incurred, I can't get the skimmer back into the fuge now that the tank is on!!

I measured, measured, and trial fitted it, and its should have fit, but i can't get it back in. Not enough room between the 55 and the tank! so... Its going outside it in a side cabinet I'll have to build...grrr.

Thanks so much Otty. Didn't see anywhere that the RO/DI had to be a certain temp to be 100gpd. My water temp is 49degrees.

Yea they don't tell you that one or they wouldn't be able to sell very many RO units. Funny how they never show the fine print any more. ;)

so, did you wash the sand or not? didn't know you could get bags of LS like that - do they come with a "use by" date? LS for me - go to local reef shop, girl scoops sand out of frag tank for 4 bucks a pound.

also - ro/di production depends on water temp and input pressure - most systems outputs are based on a 65 or 75 psi input pressure, and dropping that will cut your output even more than using cold water...

    good luck with the tank!

Well, here is the update. After a long planning sketch, I went out and got all the plumbing pipes and fittings. Had to re-do it all cuz I can't fit the skimmer in the sump/fuge with the tank on...

I put the rock in, but haven't rock-scaped yet as I needed to let the tank clear up first, and I needed a mason drill bit for the acrylic rods to connect them..

But i did manage to get one done i think so far..

The meter is reading 1.022 so far...

I am off tomorrow, so, I should get a lot done. I'll keep you all posted!
(yeah, I'll be doing this during the superbowl..)

Why don't you just drain down some of the water into rubbermaid tubs and re-do your sump with a lower tank? I think you'll be happier in the long run with the skimmer under the tank. Best option, just beef up the front support beam and take out that piece of wood in the front and center of the stand. It will allow you much more freedom to re-arrange your sump and stuff under the stand later.
