You don't even want to know what I am putting in my 125. Right now in just cooking the rock with 3500gph in the tank. When I'm ready for the sump I'm increasing the total flow to 10500gph with just 2 power heads and the return.

I used to use a surge device on my 75 and that would dump 16 gallons in 3 seconds. Bare bottom :).

Flow is how your rock filters and the water gets oxygen. We don't have air stones to Help out. Unless your using a skimmer of course.

Of course I wouldn't put a sea horse in there. Lol.

But yeah. You really do have to consider what environment you are imitating.

Sometimes low flow is more suitable with things like Duncan corals or candy cane.

With nano tanks I find it more appealing to just rely on the return pump since the tanks are tiny. A power head takes up real estate.

    Another thing I even pondered.

Have you seen the in tank wave boxes?

I wonder if anyone has utilized that into a nano tank. Rather than a pump that is constant you could have it shooting bursts into the display section. Just an idea.

If I get my hands on another nano I may try myself. I just don't have any small tanks anymore since I moved.

Ok I think I got the power head all set. my anemone did climb on a rock and got stuck up against the power head. moved the rock over a little so this wouldn't happen again. he is all settled in the corner of the tank and I think he is happy now. This is my first anemone and he gets really sickly looking during the day but then over night puffs back up is this normal? we have checked all levels and do water changes every 2 weeks. water temp was at about 72 and we bumped it up to about 76 now. let me know if there is something else we need to do or check.

Look up how to anemone safe your powerhead. Other than that you got it. The nem can climb glass if he wants. Especially up the back where the coralline grows.

I had a Condy that climbed the glass and woul jump onto fish. Wasn't pretty. One day he jumped the wrong way and was turned into a nemotocyst purée.

I have a Evolutions nano 425, Koralia K1 and a modded AC 110 HOB refugium in my 16G bowfront with a 3" Southdown DSB and wish I had more flow. I can't imagine a single 240 being anythiing at all?
