Man I'm so kicking my self in the A$$ every time I look at that tank and since Dec I spend alot of time stuck here with it..
Had I been able to move around I'd have poured several gallons of industrial bleach in to it all ready.. This damn algae has been here since Amcarig set up a 90 with some L/Rock.. Have I ever mentioned I hate L/R and L/sand and would never use it ?
Ozone U/V you name it I tried it P.H at 9.00 for a month Carbonates at 20 DKH Calcium at 700 Magnesium at 2,100 Salinity at 1.015 to 1.030 I have used some algae killer stuff now I have the light's off and going to order some Barley extract to see if that has any effect.. Barley is a good algaecide for Ponds and such Turns a green pond into a clear pond fast..
ORP at from 300 to 420 to see if that did anything ): I really hate to kill of the corals in there.. But I'd never use them in another system or even give them away . Thats where this started Trying to save a coral with some on its base rock.. I bleached the spots with a tooth brush and thought I had it all. I guess I missed a cell ? Sometimes you have to cut the hand off to save the arm.

LOLyes it was a beautiful system if I do say so myself.. But Lesson learned ,

Wrirtee a Bouk you say ? Shucks thies old country bouy can't speeeel whort a hout . Who'd by a 10 page book ? If I put my method on paper it would not take 1 page :) I'd just toss in the 9 extra as fluff and filler to sound smarter then I am LOL Like most do . I did put a how to guide on the F.F board if you ever saw it someone asked me to it was about a page long.. But all their adopted my methods over the last 10 yrs or so and you seldom see anyone having problems we just shoot the breeze mostly.

Thats my go to home site where I have fun and talk mess with friends.. I met all those people yrs ago just like you here.. They where at that time all into the DSB and new tankers and reading books and doing research. I kept telling them what would happen and even a few now friends where anything but at that time.. Until they came home and found what I was telling them would happen. Sooner or later.. So as I said they all tended to star following my methods and all have great success with them.. That site and the one we all came there from is where I met the boss :) She was fighting her Byropsis then as I recall little did I know I would wind up waging the battle myself.. )(&)(*^%&()&^%$$*8^&*&^%^&*%$ 666 Live rock :)

We shut the lights off for about 2 weeks and treated the tank with a marine algaecide and right now, the algae is gone. We're not celebrating yet though because it may come back.

The acros have been gone for quite some time because of the bryopsis but clams, the lps corals, the green and pink birdsnest, and pavona corals are hanging on. For whatever reason, the bryopsis did not grow on those particular corals.

Sorry about the hijack Bogie. Perhaps we could migrate this conversation to our 180 thread :) I'm going to move these posts to that thread :)
