I finally decided that the tank is somewhat worthy of pictures again now that the bryopsis is gone. You may not be able to see it but almost all of the acros are dead but some sps corals managed to withstand the toxic algae and, although bleached from the lack of light that we subjected them to for a few weeks, they look like they're going to make it. The coralline algae certainly did well as a result of having the lights off and it's covering just about everything. The gigas clam is easily 10" long now and we're going to have to find somebody with a bigger tank to take it soon as it won't have much room to open if it keeps growing the way it has. If you're wondering why the right side of the tank looks a bit darker than the left, it's because I splashed water on the bulb a few months ago while cleaning the front glass. Oops! :D We're not celebrating yet in case the algae decides to grow back and we won't be adding any more corals until we're absolutely sure that we're out of the woods.

And yes, Scott, the floor is still crooked and that's why my pictures are always leaning a bit to the right :D

Don't want a clam that big anyway, takes up too much room. Save it and put it in your 800g you are planning.

It's not Fancy or expensive and please don't tell the roak that as its pretty sensitive stuff . I think if it knew it was mostly all picked up off of a Job site or road work in Fl. or from a quarry there it may be sad ): as it has no pedigree :) its just mutt rock . When we would leave an area that we where racing in on a weekend I'd toss as much in the boat trailer tool box and in the hull anywhere that I would go and just hauled it back to Richmond Thats where all of the other around here came from . Hell at a Hotel we once stayed in they where doing a new wing and the Forman had his guys load the truck for me :) had to be 2 tons of it .. The 3500 GMC was squatting a tad . Soif I do go with a 800 Ga system Rock won't be a problem great Idea guys .

So, is that why you've been stockpiling all that "inferior" rock in the basement? :) And where, prey tell, would we be putting this gargantuan tank that you speak of?
