Shuffled a few pics around my Photobucket account and took a few new pics of the 180 now that it's finally got something in it worth looking at! Hard to believe that until this past weekend, all but 3 of those corals were in the 46 gallon!

    Humble beginnings:

    amcarrig/September 2006 180 Gallon - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

    Cycling with VHO actinics:

    amcarrig/October 2006 180 Gallon - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Current pics with temporary MH setup (until we can hang the 2nd part of the hood from the ceiling)

amcarrig/180 January 2007 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Where all the corals came from :)

Thanks Michael! It's looking really sparse to me now because the corals are so much more spread out than they were in the small tank. Now, I just have to sit back and wait for them to grow in :)

Tank looks great. You now need to put a lazy-boy in front of the tank to relax while you watch. All the work is worth is now, isn't it?

 I have plans for the space in front of that tank so don't go giving Tangster any ideas about a Lazy-boy!

The work is always worth it in the long run but I'll feel better about it after my back and legs stop hurting. I'm only 5' 3.5" so I had to go up and down that damned stepstool about a hundred times to transfer all those corals!

 Im like 6'4", so im like a foot taller than you!! Oh well that just means I have to bend over to clean mine!! The waiting game is alway the hard part, but it is also the fun part. My 100 gallon is just getting going, so I know what your going through. Good luck in the Lazy-boy!!!

Just wanted to update this thread to keep track of Tangster's and my progress on the 180 and to share pics to anybody who's interested ;D

The tank is at the 8 month mark and coralline is starting to take hold on the back glass and on some spots on the rock. The only problem we've had so far is that we managed to import a nice batch of montipora eating nudibranchs into our system which are devastating our montis. You can see where they've been chewing on the purple cap in the top back of the tank. :(

Otherwise, coral growth is great and most of the "older" corals have started to bond onto the rock work. The way they've been growing, we'll have to start cutting frags to sell once we're rid of those nudibranchs.

The next step is to mount the lights into the second part of the hood which we will suspend from the ceiling. We're hoping to start on that this weekend.
