    I wonder if he is involved in oil? Whew! Monster tank. It needs a serious filtration system. Getting water from the sea is one thing but making it look good in a tank is another. IMO Green water just doesn't look good in a tank.

    You can't be in the UAE, be rich, and not have some connection to oil, because of their history.

    Oil got them the money to start their other big industries - leisure and banking. They also kinda used a huge chunk of the oil profits on long term projects (infrastructure, education), which is why they're exploding economically for the last couple decades. Before that, they were another relatively poor (set of) monarch(ies) in the area, under British control.
