    How so?

    From the silicone sealant?

I have used the GE 1 silicone sealant several times on sump baffles and have never seen any such issues.

The silicone will cure for several days dry, then for a few days with FW no leak test. Then that water will be all drained out, and the tank taken to the basement and put on the stand and filled with new SW and existing SW from my 90g.

So since I have been slacking on the pictures, here is a barrage of them...

From the bar looking into the fish room. The stand is in place, and you can see the electrical I will be moving to the thing strip of wall to the left of the tank
    [IMG]

The back of the stand, note that the duct work on the left top corner of the tank area will be adjusted, probably a rectangular duct will be put in place to take up less room.

The stand all complete with a piece of plywood on the bottom to house the sump. That is a 75g sump, and it does not have a lot of room above it. Granted those are 2x6's on the top of the stand, so there is a good 6-8 inches of room to work with, but not as much as I would want. It will be a fuge on the left, main return on the center, and the pump will go on the bulkhead on the right. I have 10g of water from the 90g in the middle section with a bit of LR from my sump, and my LR bin.

The skimmer will not be placed in the sump. It, and the Ca RX will go on the wall, down pretty low to the left of the tank. here...

My hole I cut for the 2 switch electrical box placed in to see if it fit;) That wiring will go down the wall, to the left of the 2x4 stud. I had to put it higher than the height I wanted to due to the switch for the fish room on the other side of the wall. Notice the 4 switches on the old box? Those will be whittled down to 2. One for the dimmer that gets the overhead bar lights, and one for a switched socket as part of every pair of outlets around the basement. How the previous owner had it wired was odd, at best. A lot of electrical work in the basement had to be redone before we bought the house because it was not up to code. That explains the weird wiring.. someone totally unfamiliar with how stuff is wired did the electrical work.

I am trying to get the Mtn Dew smell out of my 55g plastic drum so i can fill that with RODI water, and mix up a whole vat of new SW for the transfer. Granted it is food grade plastic, and I really doubt the mtn dew syrup residue would harm anything, but I want to get that washed out a bit. I have been collecting the waste RO water in it and using that to water the plants around the house. The plants seem to be doing fine, no caffeine jitters or anything like that. LOL

Glass was supposed to be here on Monday.. they screwed me over 2 days now, and I will make sure they have it ready tomorrow.

One of our local club guys will come over and give me a hand with the siliconing of the glass. He owns a granite countertop business, so he will bring his suction cups to help.

WOO HOO! good to see the posts starting up again but that sucks about the glass. one question about the skimmer: by placing it on the wall do you think you're going to lose much efficiency along the plumbing, or will it be negligible? i suppose if you used an external pump as well you would cut and heat contribution. was that planned or a realization after putting the sump in there?

I had planned on running the skimmer in the sump, but it might be a pain to get at, and I like to see equipment on the wall;)

I don't think it will be any less efficient out of the sump. It currently is not in the sump now. I will mesh mod the genx2400 pump when I get it on the 193g.

I might be able to run the skimmer under the stand, on the far left. Then I could have it plumbed into the corked up bulkhead on the left end of the sump, with an extension pipe of course. I will have to play that by ear.

It was supposed to be ready on Monday. I called Monday and they said it will be ready tuesday, and I received no call today. I am calling first thing on Wednesday (Tomorrow) and making sure they have it ready, because a local reefer is stopping over tomorrow after work to help me put the glass in.

Oh yeah, I will take pics....

The work I did in the pictures above took quite a while, but that time could be better put to use letting the silicone cure, while I did the rest of the work. had the galss been in on Monday, then I would be ready for a water test Tomorrow. At this rate I will be doing the water test over the weekend some time. 2-3 days of fresh water test and then it can go down stairs, and I can plumb it up.

That sucks about the glass, hopefully you get it tomarro so I have a nice big write up to read when I get home from work ;) ;) I am waiting on a quote for my glass as well. My uncle manages a glass company so I am hopeing to get a good family discount and I will defenetly be jacking his suction cups for the install. Plus his diamond bits to cut the bulkheads in the sump and refuge.

Great work by the way everything is comeing along nicely. I had to completely redesign my build, but I managed to make the tank a little bit bigger and incorporate a sink into the mix.

Are you planning on having this bad boy auto top off. If so where are you going to put the DI water barrel?

Tom I forgot to ask, why even put the sump and fuge under the stand? It will be hidden behind that bar wall anyhow?

I would be very cautious using GE Silicone I. Read the label - it specifically says Not For Aquarium Use.
