The returns will simply go over the edge of the tank. I did not want any more holes than I needed to drill.

I need to razor off some more silicone slop from the glass, but that will be easier when the tank is on the stand and I don't need to crouch.

Well I don't see any water on the ground surrounding the tank so it looks like the test is going well. Have you found any leaks yet or any bowing?

zero deflection = no bowing. :)

Look at this picture in the glass. You can see my jeep in the driveway with no distortion.

The only couple of drips are from the bulkheads where the 2 pieces of PVC are merely placed in there. But that is expected, and normal. You definitely would not want to glue those joints.

Thats great news, you should be cracking a bottle of Don P for this glorious occation. So I may of missed it, but did you go with standerd 3/8" glass?

Yeah, std 3/8' glass. it is extremely clear. Maybe if this had a 1/2" or thicker glass, then the starfire would be a worthwhile option. On 3/8" glass, starfire is a waste of $$, especially when you don't see the tank edges like a traditional tank. You wouldn't just not get the placebo satisfaction effect ona tank built like this where you don't see the edges of the glass.

I like a good champagne, but I would rather spend that nice chunk of change that Dom Perignon costs on wavemaking equipment for my tank.

I have to come up with a little different logic on that part of the build. Korallia 4's won't stick to the side of the tank, unless I were to make a bracket and attach that some how.

Maybe I can silicone in a piece of glass in each back corner at a 45 degree angle. That might be my best option. I tried making acrylic "ell"s to silicone in the corners, but those look like garbage.

For more flow in the future, the sure grip magnets will work, at bare minimum the large size so I could add maximods to the tank where I need them.

I guess my build is boring because it did not fail;)

Day 2 of the water test, and not a single drip, outside of the bulhead where the pvc is just placed in.

I got the electrical sorted out and rewired tonight. i have 2 GFI's and an american DJ control center ready to be mounted.

I will probably have the tank in the basement on Wednesday.

What about getting a super thin piece of plexiglass and covering the whole wall. The power heads should be able to stick and by doing the whole way it wont be as noticable. Especially if you paint the underside of the plexy black. Plus you could silicon then on the sides so it would just look like it was the wall but be able to hold your power heads
