Well I have been waiting patiently for 6 weeks to finally add a fish or two in to my 75gal aquarium. After much research and looking around finally decided on a female and male small fire clowns.
    Ammonia -0
    nitrite -0
    nitrate - 30ppm
    salinity - 1.023
    PH - 8.0

So about to dip the clowns once - the bag slipped and both clowns went to the back of the tank and have been hiding. could anyone tell me the signs of shock - since I dropped them in before dipping. Is there anything I can do at this point? if they were over stressed would the shock have killed them with in hours? or could this process be days before I might see them dead? My first mess up :-[
they are still on the bottom behind a rock don't look like they are gasping.
Any help will be great - or things to look for.
I aslo added (water conditioner/slime for the shock)

If you had put them in the tank absolutely correctly.....they'd still be hiding in the back of the tank for a few days. They should be ok.:)

I guess you mean you were taking tank water and putting it in the bag by dipping it down? If so, I don't even add water to the bags of stuff I get, I just toss it in. Only for starfish/shrimp or a tank known to be way different in chemistry would I bother with water acclimation. Still need to float for temp tho.

    Thanks to everyone

    Thanks everyone
Good news they seem to be doing fine - poking their head around the tank getting a little braver every hour :)

So from what I have read so far - I should not feed them for 12? 24? 48? hours.

Thanks again everyone - I know it seemed trivial now but at the time I was OH ****!!!!!
