Ok, so I modded my first generation K4 with the sure flow propeller following some instructions online and the flow is incredible!
Basically, you need a maxi jet 600 or 1200 and the big propeller from one of the sure flow kits, and I happened to have it all at hand.

    Here's how:

    1. Take the koralia propeller out but keep the metallic shaft

    2. Pull off the white propeller off the black plastic piece, reverse its position and put it back in the black plastic piece it comes from. It should easily slide out with any set of pliers.

    3. Slide the magnetic drive and propeller into the shaft of the K4 and re-assemble the K4.

Now, the problem: if u had this pump constantly on, there would not be any. But if u have it on a wave maker, it makes a loud noise on every start.

I read somewhere that u can use some air line tubing to fix this, but instructions were not very good and pictures were not provided or were down.

Does anyone know how to apply the air line tubing and if so, can u please explain this to me?

I made a video that is uploading at the moment, and I need to leave here in a few minutes, but I will post it if its done uploading before I take off.

I apologize in advance for my crappy phone video and my weird foreign accent.
Thanks in advance for any help. Video coming up!

Hey Magnus, I don't have any experience with this nor seen the instructions of how to use the airline tubing, but what I see from the video is that it is scraping the frame of the koralia. As it starts up the propellor jumps forward hitting the inside frame where it starts to get narrower. See if you can put tubbing like i drew for you in the picture attached. It should prevent the propeller from jumping forward like that.

Let me know how that works for you.

    thanks for your reply, EasyMac!
I took a closer look to see if the propeller itself was touching anywhere but it wasn't. What I did find though, is that when the pump starts, it pushes the prop forward hitting the plastic piece where the axial connects to. I will see and try different ways to install the tubing and will post my findings.

    Anything else I should/could try?

Hey bro. Love your tank.;D It looks to me from Easy Macs diagram that a spacer made from the tubing is all you need. From your video you can clearly see the shaft is moving a little bit on startup. Good luck and let us know how it works for you.
    P.S. Are you from Belgium?

Yeah, I was able to see the shaft hit the front of the pumps' shaft centering plastic piece, but I've been playing with different lengths of plastic tubing as a spacer and gotten it to be a tiny little bit more quiet, but even though I'm really surprised by the amount of flow that propeller puts out, the noise it makes (regardless of the length of the spacer used) is starting to get on my nerves.

I'm originally from Argentina, bud. Is my accent similar to people from Belgium too? I can tell you one thing and that is almost anybody can figure out where I'm from when they hear me, due to the various influences I have in my accent. Little Italian, little Portuguese, and southern English.. LOL.... what a mix! :-D

Any way you can take a picture and show me what you mean next time you take it apart?

Hey bud, I fixed a noisy k4 with the airline before. You just place a small piece over the metal shaft so it dampers the banging. Eventually it will wear in and be silent.

Also, how is the mod? I have a k4 and a sureflow prop laying around... Is it worth swapping?

    Easy Fix Brother.

Cut a small piece of the air line like a donut, in other words you're make a gasket. About the thickness of a nickel. Install it at the top of the shaft.. So when the prop assy spins up, it hits the gasket.. Silicone air line works great.. ;) I did this when my #2's 4 years ago..
