yes so far i think its been a good move. my ph is stable now and cal is up, im using the kalk+2 i feel its more balanced. it mixes really well. just de-solves right into the water. i tryed another brand first and it didnt mix well. thats sitting in my closet.
i dose with my ato and a aqualifter pump. the ato hold kalk/water has 2 egg crates laying at the bottom to hold sentiment down and away from being sucked into the pump line. im adjusting my kalk still. im at 460 cal and want to be a bit lower, which should lower my dkh which is now at 14. i started at 2.5 teaspoons per 2.4 gallons of water.im now at 2 teaspoon's per 2.4 gallons of water. that should lower my readings a bit. my tank has a high evaporation rate. so my kalk needs are different than most, most likely less kalk per gallon of water.

i no longer have to add buffer in the morning for ph. its steady now. i have a ph probe so i still check it daily.
and as far as neg effects, i feel my xenia is spreading faster. some might call that neg. LOL
