2 175w MH enough for a 48" 120?

    the title says it all, i am wanting to go to mh and was wondering if it will be enough. will 250w be that much better.

    Not sure on that. Though I do know there are a lot less bulb choices when it come toe the 175w, as apposed to the 150 & 250w metal halides.

    You can but it may limit what you want and on top of that depends on how deep your tank is IMO.

    Depends on what you want to keep. I had 175's on my 150. Dimensions are 48"x24"x31" and 175's were adequate. Had good/slow growth with all my corals. The growth was not super fast, but definitely had some growth. I did recently upgrade to 250's and have seen better growth in my SPS.

    Definitely go with 250w MH, the 175 aren't really any better then 150w as far as PAR goes, and as mentioned, you will be restricted as far as bulb choice goes.

    Only addressing this point for others who may find this thread in the future, but 175 isn't enough wattage for a tank of that depth. 250W is need for 24" deep.

    That depends too, mainly on what you want to keep. It most likely won't support sps at the bottom, but will probably support most soft corals at the bottom.

    sweet what light should i get that has 2 250w mh and 4 t5s? i was looking at marinelans light but i can only find one that have 150w mh?
