2 Cucumbers?

So the past week or two i thought my tiger tail cucumber was a magician. i would look into the tank and it seemed like the cucumber was 4 feet long. it would be weaved in and out of all this rockwork almost like there were two cucumbers. surely i thought having two was impossible (i figured they only reproduced sexually) because i only put one in there. so i go see the tank this morning and i saw one cucumber completly exposed and then another partially buried...I HAD TWO. hurray!! i looked it up and i guess they can reproduce asexually how bout that. here are some pics i got before the lights turned on

How long did you let the tank mature before you added the cucumber?

 

i added the cuke about 4 1/2 months after the tank was setup. they grow up so quick

 

Yes and when they get stressed that what they do.. Maybe it was feeling bad or something divide and survive is the motto. Many aquarium animals do that trick..Algea is the worst.. Thats why so many experts where having issues with their Caulerpa's going asexual and dieing out and messing up their tanks by running their Light 24/7 it stressed the grasses . Then they found the Cheato would not do it as easily thats how that got its start I'd never use it as its not near as good as the others ..

 

So ur saying the caulerpas are better than the chaeto for nutrient export.

 

2.5years with caulerpa, lights on 24/7. I harvest 1.5 cups of caulerpa per week. No problems yet. Do you think the crab I still have hiding in my tank would harm a cuke?
