4 Place to grow pods and other natural live foods that small fish eat

this is what i was going after, it depends on the fish some will eat anything some will completely starve. its just not worth the risk for a first timer.

    You keep mentioning "first-timer".
Without adventorous hobbyists where would we be today?
    Captive Breeding
    Keeping of OSFF
I as a "first timer" was keeping SPS and an OSFF
Motivation and proper husbandry along with research is the way to go.

This would be his only tank besides the six, so putting the 2 together wouldnt add much :(
Its my first tank too, I was discouraged when my OSFF didn't eat, this was 6 months in btw, and got him eating cyclop-eeze. Not to brag, but like I said before, if he reads up on proper husbandry and enriches the food and just tries, then at least he will have learned something.

many experience aquarists have troubles keeping neon gobies. you cant just say that it is a great beginner fish for his first tank because that is just not the case.
i would suggest he just starts with a couple clown gobies or something
