    court jester,hectors,and green banded gobies are small!

    Nah, panda gobies are social and like to live in groups. 2 clown gobies will fight for territory, one will be fine by itself.
    The biggest combination of fish you could have would be 3-4 panda gobies.

    just have like a panda goby species tank. they would look great in a nano tank just all together.

    a pair of clown gobies is what i ment and my LFS has like 20 in one small tank and get along very well!

    Size is most often irrelevant to minimum tank size. Look at kole tangs, they only get to 4" but swim too much for anything under a 90 gallon.
    Ok, a hectors would be ok, but only 1. with nothing else unless you upgraded to a bigger filter etc.
    How about I give you some options.
    1 Hectors Goby and 2 Panda Gobies
    1 Green Clown Goby and 2 Panda Gobies
    1 Highfin Perchlet and Clown Goby IF YOU UPGRADE TO A BIGGER HOB FILTER such as RIO NANO SKIMMER - DiscountedPetProducts.Net

    Your LFS tanks are geared to sell fish, not create a long term tank.
