Im looking to upgrade from my 2xT5 HO 54 watt (actually I only have 82 watts going because im using a Coralife Trueblue 28watt). Right now i have a FOWLR tank.

I want to do this upgrade to start placing corals in my tank. I havn't decided on what corals yet, but I definately want to leave all options open.

I want to upgrade to the 6 bulb ceiling hanging lighting fixture, get rid of my canopy and go with a clear glass top w/ lights hanging over.

The tank im doing this to is a standard 55 gallon. Please look at these two options and let me know what you think. I know they both have very little info, but I can ask questions to either of the sellers.

    Craigslist:
    48 inch Aquarium T5 lighting

    Ebay:
    48'' Reef Aquarium Light T5 HO 6X 54 Lighting w bulbs! - eBay (item 270586569881 end time Jun-06-10 10:38:47 PDT)

What is the better deal? Is there a better deal?

Go with the craigslist fixture the other one has poor reflectors. The glass canopy will filter around 25% of the usable light from the fixture. Go with a screen made from bird netting or clear screen from McMaster-Carr.

How do you know about the reflectors? Im new to the hobby and still trying to learn about lighting, I just wanted to know what you saw that i didn't see.

The ebay one says its german polished independent reflectors. What the heck does that mean?

I never thought about the glass filtering the light. thanks.
