i got two new clown fish and an ananome. Aquarium occupants: 2 clown fish, 1 yellow tail damselfish, 1 royal gramma, 1 green bubble tip anenome, 1 coral type pylop, 5 small hermit crabs, and 1 elephant nosed snail...

I came home one day and 1 clownfish and the royal gramma are no where to be seen, also only like 10 pylops of like 40 from the whole group are open. but i know it wasnt the anenome bcuz the ones that were open were closest to the anenome... :-/

i thought the fish were hiding bcuz i just cleanded all the algea off the back but they werent there the next day :(
also when i cleaned the algea clumps of it were swirling around the tank and the ananome was catching them... my friend thought it might be the fish got caught in a feeding frenzy of the ananome but there was no bodys or anything

I dont think an anemone would be able to eat a clownfish ( or any fish) unless is dying already. Fish are smart enough to stay away from anemones.

have you checked under the tank? ( perhaps they jumped)

how old is your tank? and how are you set up?
    water parameters?

what type of anemone is it, if it's a Bubble-Tip is unlikely it ate anything unless already dead.. but a Carpet nem could def eat fish.

well i hate to be the "your tank is to young for an anemone" but...

your tank is to young for an anemone. they need a tank of at least 7 months old if not older. I would recommend you to take your anemone back to the lfs before it dies and kills the rest of your tank.

hmm.. do you have lots of rock? ( how big is your tank?) perhaps they went under the rocks or something.

Im thinking mantis right now or some type of crab... maybe..

    whats your water params?

yea he said it was a green bubble and the ones i have handled and had wouldn't eat a fish unless it was dieing and +1 to the nem guy saying the tank is not ready. also +1 for the hitch hiker cause you could have a random crab eating your livestock. Look at the tank at night with a red filtered light.

my bad, didn't see it in the original post, thx.

be careful when getting the nem out if you decide to take it out, if it's planted it's foot down it can be tricky to get out. Some suggestions are to use an RO ice cube or to aim a powerhead at it's foot to get it to move.

the ice works wonders but you have to be careful and patient.
