I am planning out th fish for our 65 gallon tank, currently only have two Black Oscellaris Clowns and would like to add a second pair of Oscellaris to the tank. What is the thinking around having two pairs in a single tank?

How established are your current clowns?

If they are older and have been established for some time you may have some real difficulty in a 65 gallon tank.

You would need a lot of real estate.

    Do you have any anemones?

I have a B/W female and I know for sure she would kill almost any addition.

Not established at all. They are my first two fish and currently in the QT. Would having my next fish to the tank be another pair, be the best way to do that? Yes, one of mine is kind of a bully, but I think still settling in.

No anemones at this point as I am taking things slow and want to get some fish in the tank fist before venturing to corals and others. Here is a pic of the DT.

In a 65 gallon tank I would advise against it or

    1. The bully is probably a female, so you can try two other young immature clowns.
    2. Working in for you is that you have a QT and can remove any of the clowns that is getting bullied. Or remove the bully and allow the other clowns time to acclimate in the display and then re-introduce the dominate clown.

    Good Luck

    Nice scape BTW.

I'm sure I agree with the seasoned advice you have already.

Funny, I have 3 clowns, all added at different times, and NONE of them pair up!

A small Oc. Clown, A medium large Black sebae, and a HUGE Maroon- he's very docile however.

the Black Sebae is the bully of them, the medium sized one.

I do have a 125 however, and like I said, I'm sure I AGREE with the advice you have thus far.

Don't try what I did at home!
