ok so i have a 55 gallon tank with powercompact lights, 4x65 watts, and it does very well, i have a green carpet and hard and soft corals, and all have grown and are beautiful colors, i also have a 29 gallon that had corals, (but i took it down) um the lights are the same brand power compact but are just 24" i am not sure the watts, i jsut know that it has a moon light and 4 light bulbs underneith that look the exact same as my 48" ones except at a smaller size, i am thinking of getting like a 72" tank, so that i can just put the 48" on one side and the 24" on the other side, will this work??? i am not sure how big the tank will be in terms of gallons, or i could just get a 4 ft, tank and have it widers and put them back to back? i jsut still want it to work for corals, but i need a bigger tank because i already have a purple tang and another type of tang in there, and am planning on adding a blue and yellow, and possibley a sailfin tang, ahha, thanks in advance all :)

If the 24" has the same amount of light bulbs(wattage), it should. My only concern would be the following; The legs on the 24" may not fit the top of the tank, unless your hanging it. My other concern is how deep is that new tank? Anything deeper than 20" and those PC's arent going to work.
