    I'm setting up a new tank 140G Oceanic. Im looking at either 2x Tunze 6105's hooked to Apex controller or 2 Vortech MP40W's. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks ::)

    i also would love to have 1 or 2 vortechs. but that price just seems WAY to high to justify me even considering buying even one. k+

    The Vortechs are kind of high but only around $300 or so from the Tunze's not including the controller

    I have two of the Vortech MP40ws and love them. They move a TON of water. I really enjoy the fact that you can have them act together in slave mode. The only thing I do not like about them is when there is a power outage you have to reset the night mode. It does not retain the setting.. Even with this being said I would buy them again in a heartbeat..

    I'm in the vortech camp too, I have a dialed down MP40 on my 30gal right now and will have 2 on my 75 although I may have to dial them back a little on that tank too. :)

    Reef crest mode in anti-synch mode is awesome chaotic water movement.

    I will be using 2 mp40s, 2 tunze 6055's and one 6105 in my new 250. I Split the difference and get one tunze with a single controller and a vortech.

    The 2 MP40's are dialed back in my 120. they move a ton of water and it was beating up my corals. Have them dialed in now and they are producing about a 1 1/2 wave on the short pulse mode.

    I'm changing from MP to Tunze

    The wet side of my MP40 froze up after working fine for a little over a year. Replacement is not cheap, so I'm going to bite the bullet and go with Tunze based on their reputation.
