greater than expected, the borwn algea started about 3 days ago. Came in full force all over rocks and i decided to throw in some cleaners to keep it calm. i've been readin it goes away but my LFS said it wont.. so im not sure. cycling is great though. soon in the future i will probably upgrade tank size.

are the lights on just for the pics or have you been running them?

I'd leave them off for the cycle - no need to encourage algae growth.

The brown algae will go away on its own as the cycle winds down. I got overexcited about keeping the diatoms under control and my cleaners had to suffer through a cycling tank. Do you have your own test kit?

Low light and good flow will also certainly help.

--Not low light but a shorter daylight period.
