ok so here is the thing.. i had ick so i moved all my fish to a QT since they had ick. 2 died on display and 2 in QT. i have 3 left (one might not make it)

i took everything down. the tank the sand the rocks the filter everything.
washed everything with plenty of fresh water. even the LR. and sand. ( i was treating the tank with this "reefsafe" remedy i bought at the LFS.)

after washing everything. I restarted my tank. Its cycled now. im wondering though. Can i add my fish back? how more should i wait if not? its been two weeks fish less.

Why did you go through all that? You just wiped out any and all beneficial organisms that were in your system. Did you read somewhere that this was an effective method to get rid of ich or were you too impatient to just let the display tank sit fishless for the whole 6 weeks?

from what i understand ich is in every system, and is brought on by stress/poor water conditions. who instructed you to tear everything down?

no,, it wasnt that i didnt want to wait. it was that stupid medicine. it turned the water neon green!. it seriously glowed. lol not something that will go away on its own.
but since i did took everything down. i was wondering if i had to wait that amount of time anyways.?

haha! Sound like too much trouble to me. I would have just let my tank sit fishless and kept all the bacteria. I don't like the idea of medicating a reef tank either. Ich is in every system, but healthy fish are able to fight it off. Concentrate on water conditions, stability, and stocking (slowly and with compatible fish) or it will happen every time.

ok everybody calm down the last thing we need to do is argue. it sounds like he just made a simple rooky mistake. ok so you made a mistake now waht? you wait. you wait till its done cycling again. if its done in two weeks (prob not) then add them. if there hardy fish then add them (kinda mean i know). guys, this is a friendly person asking a question about a mistake he made that he really needs help on. now come on be nicer.
