I have 250s on my 18 in tall tank and that seem to be just right. So I would have to say be carefull but you could always raise the lights up high and start a mangrove tree with a little beach and have your own little Isle. Just kidding about the Isle but you could do a tree. But seriously you might have some heat issues as the others say. Anything is worth a try if you watch it carefully.

Iraf I run 3 of the 400's and I did not use a chiller until this last Oct I put on line I repaied one then the guy never paid me and it sat in my garage for 5 months So I took it LOL for the 300.00 I had in it , I do keep the house cool and sump being in basement helped and a fan on tank and a fan over sump in basement both on thermostat to kick on at 78 did just fine . But Now with the chiller I'm good to go may add a 4 lamp ..

^ They have a regular 180 (6x2x2) with corner overflows. I don't know the light cycle as he does, but they have 3 x 400w MH and 2 x 6 foot UVL VHOs for actinics.

I think also thinking back my roomate was burning 10k's.. with his 400 watt mh.. Higher K rating would have helped his coral colors.. and Lil better with the squinting... When you get it all plugged in Post a pic or 2...!!

I should be ok. I'm plugged in and running now. I took the back of my canopy off and braced it with wire and a turnbuckle. I also have a 4 inch fan in each end of my canopy. I'm watching the temp closely as that is my only real concern.

Sorry Tangster I just knew you had a chiller I didnt know when you added it, Also I wasnt saying I dont trust Tangster and Otty on the bulb choice I've never had MH so I'd go with those guys as well, Roger recommended pretty much everything in my 90 gallon and I've been happy with it
