I am thinking about getting two yellow tail damsels to replace my aggressive kole tang. I have also decided that the tan is probably too big for my tank. Are these damsels good overall fish??? Are they agressive?? Amy other info would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!

I have some in my 55 and they were aggressive at first but once they settled out territory they have been great! But do remember they are damsels.

How big is your tank? I am suprised your Kole was agressive. Yellowtail damsels are among the most aggressive damsels and will beat on anything. If you have all bigger fish you should be ok but I say don't get them, they bully everything and are impossible to get out of your tank.

They will torment and harass any fish you put in the tank after them. I speak from experience. They are extremely territorial, buy them with caution.

damsels are what some will call filler fish, they are just in the hobby for cycling and to fill in the cracks in stocking a tank. thats just how i look at it. there is a reason they are so cheap its because they are agressive and the price tempts the un experienced hobbyist into loading up his tank with them and learning the hard way
