20 Gallon long Refugium Build

i have a similiat design, pretty much mirror image. but i only have 2 dividers for the bubble trap.

i have noticed that the return section in the middle seems to be the lay out of choice in recent history. its nice to control the flow through the fuge and skimmer sections seperatly while keeping water levels constant

 

Yeah that is a big benefit of a center return. Some also say(which is why when with this design) that having the skimmer & fuge in continuum, whichever comes first will do too good of a job & make the other(skimmer or fuge), just about useless, I guess you could say, not fully doing it's job.(Too much nutrients taken from one, leaving not much for the other)
