When I say cold room I mean really cold room. It gets below 70 in the middle of summer in this room. Im only planning a chiller because sooner or later I will move again and want o plan ahead for that. The light I have also puts out no heat. Doesnt even get warm:)

Finally got all my plants in. Not much to look at now but when they start to grow they should look pretty good and hide most the equipment. My heater should be here tomorrow so I can see just how low I can get my temp. Im going to drop it one degree per day until I hit 73 or it stops dropping. Then I can start to look for some horses.

That's a great species. Relatively easy to care for, easy to "train" and will spawn like crazy for you.

Yes, spawning will happen, assuming you get a male and a female :D

Lots of preparations needed for the babies. It's a lot of work rearing them so if you can't spare the time, you might not even want to try. You will need a separate tank for the male and a separate tank for the brood once they've hatched. Feeding the fry is pretty involved as well. Lots of good info on this website about seahorses.

Wow your not joking. That looks like a ton of work. If they do spawn I think Ill call the first batch a total loss. Maybe after that I will give it a try. I already spend so much of my time on my tanks and enjoy every minute of it so this all sounds fun to me.
