I need help trying to find a 20" T5 adequate for reef use. How do you all feel about putting a 24" Aquaticlife (I guess it would just hang off 2" on each side). There just does not seem to be a lot out there for this size tank.

    Thanks in advance!

    -What's your budget?
-I have seen the overhang done before, thought it will create a lot of light throughout the room and you won't be able to have a canopy
-I assume you want corals? You'll want to go with high output T5's (T5HO)

Just realized aquaticlife still doesn't have 20" fixtures... :( ugh. It's difficult to find lighting for nano tanks.

Coralife is the only one making 20" light and bulbs. Buying a 24" unit is the best idea since you will have a greater selection of bulbs.

Agreed, I can deal with the overhang for better bulb options.

I do not want a canopy. I do want corals so I will need some type of HO T5. What about a clamp on MH? Tank is small enough that it may cover the whole tank (although it would be overkill).

Clamp on MH might work too. Though on that size of a tank I would be afraid of having way to much PAR, in turn, killing or bleaching corals.
