Would you care to elaborate? I'd be interested in seeing some links to factual testing results on this one.

14000Kelvin is the color temperature, be it from LED, MH, T5HO, or whatever, and if the lighting is correctly rated, it's also an excellent CT for coral growth and coloration.

I'm not saying it's a terrible light, but why is it selling $50 when other LEDs run from $200-$1,000?

Because this is just one 20W LED vs. lighting systems with lots of 1-3W LEDs with different colors, optics, and control/dimming options.

And I am new to the hobby, and obviously proper lighting, but I am under the impression you want a mix of colors and temperature, i.e. 10K & 20K, along with blues. Am I missing something?

Which leads to my next question, how is one 20 watt light acceptable for growth when most reefers run many more diodes which much more wattage than this one over their tanks?

with the other lighting that i added, i have the 20w led floodlight at 14000k, the 18w led strip at 10000k, and 2 10w bulbs at 6500k. is that better? should it have a more positive affect on my corals?

I honestly have no idea. LED lighting knowledge is not a strength of mine. I'm in the process of learning.

I could be wrong, but I believe 6500K is actually the "best" to grow corals, it is just not pleasing to the eye as it has a good amount of yellow to it. That looks like a good mix to me, but again, I am no expert.
