I have a 20g Nano-Reef currently with a cleaner, maroon clown (1.5"), and a diamond goby (2"). I just lost a tang that had been in the tank for about a week. I will be upgrading to a 75g within weeks, so the tang was going to go in there...but he bit the dust before then

Anyhow, would could I safely keep with these fish is this 20g? I would like something active, personable, and colorful.....

    Thanks so much!

PS - When I found the tang dead today, I checked all params and they look good...0's on NO3 and PO4, 420 Ca, 10dKH, 8.2 pH, 79 temp, 1100 Mg....I think it was stressed from transport and a small tank possibly?

i think the maroon clown will outgrow a 20 gallon. plus they get kinda territorial.

the first tank i set up with my sister about 7-8 years ago is a 20 gallon. there is a clown (ocellaris) and a yellow tail damsel. they are both still alive ;D. anything else we tried to put in the tank got beat to death.

I understand that...I'll be moving him into the 75 when he gets larger. Any other ideas?

I would say don't add until you upgrade just to keep from possibly wasting $$ that could be spent on getting the upgrade done faster.
