I’m in the process of setting up a 210 Aggressive FOWLR. I would like to know if the fish I’ve listed would be too much of a Bio-load for my system, compatible with each other, and which order they should be introduced into the tank.

    Volitan Lionfish
    Picasso Triggerfish
    Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish
    Snowflake Eel
    Haller’s Stingray
    Porcupine Puffer
    Clown Triggerfish

    Aquarium - 210 Aqueon with Megaflows 72 x 24 x 28
Dry Rock – 175 BRS Reef Saver Rock
Sand – 200 lbs Original Grade Ocean Direct
    Powerhead – x2 Hydor Koralia Magnum 3250
    Lighting – x2 Marineland 32949 T5 HO 48”
Sump - Aqueon Proflex Model 4
Skimmer - Reef Octopus Diablo DCS 200 INT
Return Pump – Eheim Compact 5000
    Reef Keeper Elite System
    RO/DI System

Many potential issues with that mix. It can work, but it will take a lot of effort on your part. Long term, a 210 will not be big enough. Triggers and rays/puffers/eels don't always play together well, let alone those two triggers have the potential to be extremely aggressive. Which fish are must haves?

I don't have a lot of experience with large fish either but have kept a couple of your fish as smaller species. I would recommend that you pick one of the triggerfish and not both. Clown triggerfish are probably one of my favorites (thus my avatar :)).....I'm wondering since the eel and stingray are more bottom dwellers that you may want to pick either or with those two as well. I just looked up the stingray and it does recommend "for experts only" and that they require a special substrate. I do think they are soooo cool though. If you can get the fish smaller so that they can grow up together might be the route to go. I know others will disagree but I have not found triggers to be aggressive toward other species but I have to preface that and say I've never kept a clown trigger.

I know that Greg or Renee on here would be the best "go to" people for advice on aggressive fish and which order to add them.

HTH - Good luck! It sounds like it's going to be an awesome tank!

I could skip the Haller's Stingray and / or The Clown Triggerfish but I'm hoping everyone will get along if I get them when they're babies and add them in the correct order.

I kept a wolf eel, marble cat shark, lion fish and a ray in my tank together when it was originally setup for aggressive fish. It was a 210 as well. The ray got picked on very very badly. I would notice the eel bite him and would not leave him alone. I ended up donating them all to my LFS after about 8 months of it. Good luck.

I wouldn't put in the lionfish or clown fish. Add the clown trigger to that list aswell, it needs 280 gallons or more.

Have you bought everything yet? I'd personally go with a much larger tank as the sump if the flooring can handle it to help with the bio-load of larger fish. Then, what others said. Most rays (including the one you listed) need colder water so that's a no go for any of them in the mix. And honestly, even the maroon clown could be a problem as they can be very nasty. If you want it an aggressive tank, don't get a lion as they are peaceful toward anything that's not food and actually can't defend themselves well against bullies. The puffer also could get too large for a 210 - they can get up to 1.5-2ft and they are big, wide fish.

I'm also going to be the a Debbie Downer. The lion is only compatible with the eel. The clown can be eaten and the rest will pick.

That opening is about the size of a nice size orange.

Please ignore the caption underneath the picture, as it is meant for another media.

But personally, I think you should keep the lion and eel and ditch everything else :)
