    Wow what a great read, glad to see it finally coming together for you, and your almost there. Would love to have that kind of system but would have to build a new house to hold it. Looking forward to more updates.

    Thanks y'all.

    The recirculating pump for the skimmer froze and cost $360 plus to replace, evidently. That's too expensive for a replacement pump on a 1000 dollar skimmer. Ticks me off as there is no choice. But I think I'll look for another skimmer instead. Maybe we won't even need one with the auto water changer. Guess we'll see. Lights first.

    Ammonia = 0.85. Nitrite = 8.

    First in will be the inimicus. He really needs to get out of the current tank he's in. Then it's the mombasae and the barberi lion. What a long long unending road.......

    It's So quite, it's eery. I can't wait to get some lights.

    We found a place that sells custom stain glass, so now we're working on light ideas.

    That's the truth, lol!

    What is the area directly underneath your fuge, anything in there? How do you change your filter socks?

    We actually built a skimmer lift, so that the area underneath was easily accessible. But since then the pump on the skimmer broke and I'm not going to replace it for now. So the skimmer is coming off and the tank will be open.

    There is nothing underneath the fuge. The fuge is built into the tank. Water trickles in from the skimmer (gotta redesign that now) and leaves via a PVC stand you can see sticking out there. The water just flows out to the main sump.
