Well here are some updated shots, showing you the moonlights hung and an idea of how i wired them through the light pennant. I really like it. I would take a picture of the tank under the moonlights but my camera phone just makes the light look way too bright so once i get my moms camera ill snap some shots. Until then, enjoy the fancy, professional look of my new moonlights in place! lol

The 2nd pic is with antinics and moons on, just so you dont think they are so bright and oddly colored ;D

So i guess the next steps for this tank is get the resivior for ro/di set up when the bulkheads arrive along with the float valve and auto shut off system coming, tape (or something) the black background in place, and get my sump plans figured out and ordered! woo hoo! O ya and i have to install the new phosphate reactor i ordered from BRS today!!! (It will arrive on thursday along with the bulkheads and ASO & float valve) Looks like equiptment wise and aesthetics im headed in the right direction! finally, in the 3 years ive been involved with fish...

O and please excuse the salt creep all over in the first pic, i turned the mp10 on a little too high of a wave movement (messing around with it) and water got out ;D Looks like i have some cleaning to do...

As for cycling, Im about 5 weeks into it. Ammonia is down, nitrite is up, nitrate is down. Looks like the next step is nitrite goes down and nitrate goes up a bit and im done and ready to start dosing everything and add a fish!

Thanks puffer, im glad you appreciate this tank so much.

Well im getting excited, my prediction about the cycle was right. Nitrite is dropping (down to 3.0ppm) and my nitrate is slowly rising (up to 20ppm). I know 20ppm is safe for nitrate, so i guess its a matter of whether it will rise more or stay there and if my nitrite is going to continue to lower. Im really excited to start building my reef, and i think we all know how hard it is to wait out a cycle  Well ill definitely keep you guys posted. Hopefully as a little surprise to my mom and dad i can have a fish in there by the time they get back from their cruise. I hope!

well params are the same but my rock is really starting to color in, doesnt look as artificial and is starting to look like one big sculpture in stead of a bunch of small rocks zip tied. Thanks algae! Ill take pics later. Sadly im still working out my sump designs so no progress on that yet. Ill continue to keep you in the loop!

well 3reef, im so sorry its been so long but school has just gotten the best of me, and it all started with finals. Anyways, the tank has just been sitting pretty for the past month or so, obviously params are perfect. Just completely spot cleaned the inside of my stand, as well as my CPR overflow and just everything, in preparation of my custom sump arriving. While with nothing to do on a school day, i painted the back of the tank black. Being creative, since my tank is rimless and i couldnt raise the cpr overflow with the screws because there is nothing for them to rest on, i cut the brace, to the length of the overflow, from an old tank of mine so now the water level is where i want it. Thats just to name so few improvements that have happened in the past months. Once the sump arrives, this tank will be in full gear mode, considering the sump is what prevented me from beginning in the first place. But, to look at the bright side, once i get my sump, hopefully all the expensive equipment i saved up for can all work in harmony to create a great reef environment.

Cheers, and im glad to be back. Many, many updates and pictures to come.

PS: Ive seen vast improvements in everyones tanks and they all look stunning. Just a little too busy to write down all my thoughts about every tank, so i thought id make a general announcement ;D keep on rockin 3reef, your always improving.

well heres the plans for my sump that i just submitted and payed for. Im just running it by you guys just to make quadruple sure everythings ok with it. The guys said it will be in the mail monday, march 8. I know, bummer it takes so long, but at least i will get it before that week is up because its being shipped from new york. I payed 175 for the sump and 40 for shipping :-/ steep price, i know, but its the missing piece to my puzzle and once i have it, everything is linked and working in my tank so i figured id fork out the money while i still have it. Updates to come monday the 8th for the receiving date and some date after that when i receive it.

    Cheers!
