I see it as pictures 1 & 2. anyways, im glad i put it externally. Looks awesome, it will be a breeze replacing the GFO and i just like it! Enjoy.

EDIT: Sorry, the 3rd picture is upside down. ugh im too lazy to fix it :p

Heres my filter sock after 3 days in the tank... Just dry rock and dry sand (not live), and just a cup of live sand. Lot of stuff! its a lot more brown in person... Guess its time to learn how to use a washer ;D Only one half of it is really brown because my sump isnt as tall as it is so i just fold it in there... BTW, should i wash this or is there like beneficial bacteria colonizing on it??? im cycling and i dont want to mess anything up. I cant remember if i replace the filters or not while cycling.

And the tank is on its way to clearing up. I added a cup of my dads sand from his 3 year old tank so that helped a lot. Once cleared, ill take another video, aquascape changed drastically.

I wash my filter sock, i don't think washing it would affect bacteria. Just remember no soap or detergent

Yep, this is what i am going to do:
1. Run the washer empty on a 20 minute "spin and rinse only" cycle with water.
2. Run the washer with sock on a 20 minute “spin and rinse only” with bleach.
3. Run the washer with sock on a 20 minute “spin and rinse only” with water.

Only problem is that my washer doesnt have a spin and rinse cycle. Is there an equivalent you can think of?

I don't know much about washers I just throw the sock in put it on perm press takes 37 minutes and is spotless and 95% dry when it's done, no bleech or anything just pure water
