They should fit fine. T5HO bulbs are about 2" shorter than the stated length normally. Don't know why they were listed that way.

    +1

they normally list the tube sizes to indicate what size fixture they belong in
rather than the actual size of the tube
so this is a bit different IME but yes they are listed for use in 2ft, 3ft and 4ft fixtures on the link

Thank you both, with that fixture would you go with that bulb or the 454?

I think for me it would depend on the CT of the halide I was using

if it where a 1OK lamp I may go for the more blue of the 454

but if the lamp was 14K or higher I would go with the 420

is just overal tank colouration and aesthetics IMO once you have MH as your source of PAR

I like that thought Steve. I am currently using a 14k bulb.

its not a bad price on that unit, for a brand name like Aquamedic

seems like a good deal to me

Aye, indeed. They just dropped the price recently and had to snatch it.

Since it is silver and my whole tank is black I am thinking of bribing my friend with a powder-coat shop to make it black.

Dingo has me going a blueline electronic ballast for it.. have to do that next paycheck. ;)
