Seriously though I wish they would have either eaten him or left him in the wild not some zoo to die.

i think that prolly a lobster that big would not taste so good...but heh ive never tried also...i found this out...its kinda funny...when u buy a lobster and boil it..(MURDERER! lol) u only have around 15 min before it avenges its death lol...basically after a lobster dies it can take revenge on the killer by releasing its bowels (poopy stuff) into its meat lol...just a fact...AFTER U BOIL LOBSTER TAKE OUT THE INSIDES BEFORE IT MAKES U EAT POOPY MEAT!

A lobster that big was very old, probably could not withstand the stress.  It's a shame they didnt leave that magnificent animal alone and put him back in the ocean.  Lobsters can get very large over time.  Back in the 1700's a supposed 150lb lobster was pulled out of the hudson river bay and it fed most on George Washington's regiment.

Yeah I'll say!! and it's a little sad that you don't see it much anymore, and when you do ppl act like fools and kill it. Blah... sorry, the tree hugger in me coming out.

Lets see, back in 77ish I was working through school waiting tables at a seafood place. Four star full tux ****. One day the owner came up with a 20+ (I forget the exact weight) lobster. What a beast. Most of the time, the lobsters came in live. This boy was DOA. I just don't think he/they can stand the temp change.  At that size in warm water they can't metabolize enough O2. Anyway, really big boys don't taste as good. anything over 2.5 lbs. isn't good eating. The fishermen should have let it go right then and there, but the financial incentive to sell it is too strong. The big ones are the ones that breed the most.

Oh, eventually, he was chopped up and put in the stew, soup, salad, etc. :-/

I agree - I've eaten quite a few down in Baja & my experience with is that as they get bigger/older, the taste goes downhill quickly.
