All of these corals came from my 11g tank that I've been running on the same philosophy--- large amounts of soft coral growth with only enough feeding to keep the fish satisfied (which is admittedly tricky, I don't keep anything difficult to feed). In my 11g tank, I kept two clowns and a 6-line wrasse quite happily (all were under 2" long). I lost one of the clowns before moving, it went carpet surfing despite my mesh top.

This tank isn't stocked any heavier than the 11g tank was, gallon for gallon.

I don't have a recent FTS but I might be able to get one soon. Since this tank is still going through the usual diatom bloom seen in most tanks, I stay awake at night from the sound of diatoms growing in my living room. They sound like rice crispies.

23" cube with 1/2" glass = 46 gallon capacity. This used to be a 70g column tank (31" tall) but I cut the top 8" off of it using a diamond saw to cut the glass. Now it's much more reasonable to work around in.

I can assure you that there is no lack of swimming room, especially since all of the fish I currently have are basically rock-dwelling, with the exception of the Chromis, which are happy in open water or in the rocks.

And, I have an enormous amount of rock territory. There is no wasted space--- nearly every square inch of my rockwork is possible "territory". My peppermint shrimp are always hanging out on the undersides of the rocks--- as are the chromis and even the clown. The clown hasn't "found" the same bed of anthelia he used to host in the 11g tank.

    Thanks Corailline :).

The goniopora will, in lower current rates, expand more than you see in the pics. Maybe 2-3X as long, but not as long as G. stokesi.

I actually watched these gonis in the LFS for nearly two months. They wouldn't sell. They had a full time employee intentionally telling everyone NOT to buy them because they were sure to die. I actually applaud his action, although I disagree with it.

I bought them both with store credit from stuff I traded in. They are slowly growing more corallites and I rarely target feed them anything. Too much trouble (have to finely powder the food in a mortar/pestle).
