24" 20w t12 (old school) bulb replacement

hello everyone, I just got my 4x65w pc lights (2x12k / 2xactinic) today..

I have my old t12 50/50 24" 20w bulbs in the rear of my canopy/hood.. these bulbs are probly 6-8 years old. So I know there probly only putting barely any light.

what bulbs should I put in for replacement.

1. Corallife 20w 24" T12 10,000k
or the same I have below.
2. Corallife 20w 24" T12 50/50

I want it a little more whiter light from that fixture. dont care about the 50/50 antinic blend, because the new pc lights I just got came with 2x65w actinics.. will 10,000k be better for my coral growth then the 50/50 when I get some?

10Ks have faster growth than 50/50s.

 

well it depends on what kind of color you like. The power compacts that you have are going to burn just a little yellow so if it were my tank, I would get some actinic t-12 bulbs to combat that

 

thanks for your opinions! I just lost a oydessa 12,000k 65w PC bulb only after 8 hrs of use! I hope its only the bulb and not the ballast.. will have to check it tomorrow.. to hot now to touch.. I also might have got a little finger grease/sweat on them bulbs when i was installing splash guard on unit.. forgot to wipe with clean towel.. will a little grease/sweat or such fowl these bulbs quicker?? maybe I should upgrade my brand of bulbs to corallife or something..

 

well it was my ballast that went out.. so a new one is on its way..

I did get a pair of 10k corallife t12's for my old fixture.. I will compare them to my very old 50/50 that are in there now.. also I do have 2X65w actinics PC bulbs which help combat the yellow 12k pc in there now.. looks pretty white..
