24" or 30"?

    I purchased the 36" for my 30" tank because I will be upgrading in the summer to a 75. The legs will be made out of acrylic. I will make a DIY thread for next weekend when everything arrives. A number of other places charge more for just the fixture than what I paid for the fixture w/ bulbs.

    Another idea whippy, is you can just put some type of reinforced shelving unit right above the tank and hang the light from their. I think Puffer Chick did that with her TEK, worked perfectly.

    Mainly making new legs or finding a way to hang it.

    If you have a tall ceiling you could make a hanger with decorative shelving brackets.

    Well.....
    While changing my light bulbs today my old lighting unit took a dump on me. Ended up picking up T5 retrofit kit. Fits perfectly in the hood and a world of difference from what I had before.
    I figured since I had this thread active I would update it as well as my progress thread...


    Kudos to Blue Ribbon Koi in Manassass VA for their help, even at closing time!!!
