I am thinking of purchasing a 24x24x12 30 gal tank. My only concern is the 12 inch height and how that will effect my scape and stocking. Anyone have any experience with a tank like this or any thoughts. I previously had a 150 gal tank but have been tankless for about a year.

there are several shallow tanks on the forum. Try searching, that may help you out - I'm sure there are considerations for a shallow tank in terms of stocking.

I have 20g long it's only 8-10'' tall because of the sand, but I went with two islands.

Thanks for the reply! I decided that i did not want to go with a shallow tank as i will be spending more time looking from the side than looking down. I also figured that stocking issues would be a bit easier with a more traditional tank. I went with a 60 Gal cube and think it will work well. I ll post build pics soon. Nice looking tank BoB123!!
