    I just prefer using water from tank when I can (when transferring to larger tank). I am pretty sure it assists with water parameters when coming from established tank. With the Mantis tank I was able to pull out about 5 gallons, so I only had to mix 11 gallons of new salt water. I am pretty crazy about water changes and do 10% each week so my water is always pretty good.
