25 watt uv

    would a 25 watt uv sterillizer be suficiant with a 72 bow. i am begining to add some more fish and would like to cut my chances for ick.

    any advise would be helpful..

    UV is partially helpful for Ich. However, the best preventative for Ich is proper QT procedures and a good diet for the fish.

    I have a Current-USA 25w UV for my 65gal, I believe it's rated up to 125gal. I bought it to help kill parasites, but like Inwall25 says, proper diet, good water parameter and QT is your best defenses from that nasty ich parasite. If you do get one, make sure to match the pump with it, as flow rate requirements are different for parasites and bacteria (less flow for parasites).

    just make sure the water flow is slow enough. too fast and it wont kill anything. I have posted a few times some of the flow rates for some UV's. I would check the details for yours.
