160lbs of sand and 400 gallons worth of salt mix just arrived... expected in the next couple days is the heater, the return pump (the speedwave DC SpeedWave DC Pump - 2640 GPH - Bulk Reef Supply) and a feeding tube. In 3 weeks I should have this bad boy up and cycling. Just a debate on wether I should re-use all of the current rock to make something or order 100 or so lbs of base rock and just enhance the structure with my live rock. Oh the choices!

He is lazy and taking another vacation. No worries his buddy is around to take care of everything. Wait until you see some of the corals we got today.

Ok, so Monday night a couple of fellow reefers in billings came over to give me a hand getting this thing in. Once we have it situated we realized there is an overhang on the ceiling making the current hood unusable at this time (Major bummer as it was a good one). At this point I am exploring hoodless as well as making a new hood. Every option is on the table.

today I vacummed out the tanks and had to use a ladder to get in there! As you can see in the most recent picture- I also added sand. Marco Rocks fine sand and 160lbs was more than enough!

Next step is getting the RO/DI going- the problem I need to overcome is draining the "waste" water the unit puts out. I don't have any drains downhill so I will have to either plumb an auto top off of sorts and carry buckets like Jack and Jill!

Boy I hope you have long arms, that tank looks deep.

Pretty nice shape for an Acrylic, no mag floats for you.

Congrats and too bad about the over hang dang it.
