A rarely disagree with 2in10, but that tank is only 17" tall isn't it? LOL, with a 150 you can keep whatever you want wherever you want, that it plenty of light for that little tank. I think you'll have serious heat issues with a 250W.

The JBJ 150 puts out plenty of light. I had one on a 20H (16" tall) and was keeping 2 clams on the bottom! There was a little shading on the sides, the tank was 24"L. So, I'd say the coverage would be about 20"x20". However, I would never recommend a JBJ product that can burn your house down. I came home one day to find it off and dangling over the tank. The stupid thing got so hot it melted. The wires top support joint, all melted! I have used a number of their products and they are really junk. Not something I would recommend anyone trust their life too, never-mind the life of their livestock...
There are plenty of 150s out there though, most should be fine and have about the same coverage.

i love mh i've had better results with it then flor, the problems are heat and elect cost even with the 150 i believe it will raise heat and cost so fans or chiller will be used also to keep heat down. if i were doing it now, i would try leds, i would give them a chance, i've seen enough and heard enough to give them a chance, i believe they are the future of reefkeeping:)
