Main floor of a house will prolly be a no go, this beast is going to be heavy. Avergae 10lbs per gallon and your looking at 25,000 lbs. Add your rock prolly 3-4 thousand pounds. And then you will have your weight of the tank itself.

Your looking at a 30,000 lb beast or 13.5 tonnes roughly. Foundation level will be your only option.

Yeah basically you would either have to build on to your house to make it possible or build your house around it. Not to discourage but if you have to ask how much?... probably too much

Ok so If you do have the money required to support not only an endeavor such as this bit the up keep as well... I'm also basing some of these suggestions on the post stating 2.5k minimum for a pup and assuming that you'll need a tank way larger than you were planning on for this particular species of shark.
    1. Read and speak with experts. There is a guy named bill whan (spelling?) That built his own custom 20k gallon fish tank. He'd be an invaluable source of info.
    2. As mentioned, humidity will be a serious issue which if not dealt with correctly will destroy your house. Do not under estimate this issue or save it to last in planning, it should be among the first.
    3. Again as mentioned we're looking at a massive amount of weight here. Chances are your house is not built for it and it may be hard to modify it. Most likely option would be to build on an addition specifically for the tank. Which obviously increases your costs significantly. Or better yet, build a new house around this tank. Just don't every plan on selling...

Unfortunately for a tank this size you're probably in the wrong place. As great as 3reef is, the largest tank build I've seen around here is maybe in the 1-2k range you were originally talking about. Though I'm sure we all would love to follow along and many will have valuable insight for you, you really should be talking to public aquariums, Marine biologists, engineers (structural, electrical, mechanical, and probably more).

Good luck! Definitely let us know if you're a billionaire so we can shut our mouths and get to work helping you design and build this thing!

I looked at something similar 2 years ago.
Tank is not the right way, pool with filters and skimmers is the way to go, solar panels in the room heat the water and assist with driving pumps.
Or depending on location, you could pump straight from and back into (recirculate) from the ocean.

Tanks limit growth and feeding potential, if you do a pool, you can add fish, reefs and then dive in t too, enclosed reef dives ? Great training for your local padi diving school, more income possibilities ?

Oh I don't agree. If one has the money and passion is well within the terms of possible. Though a pool reef tank is must likely the way to go for something this size. There's a build thread right now on rc for a guy doing this exact thing. They're still pouring the foundation of the pool/tank so it's a good time to join and follow along for insight into what's involved regarding cost, time, planning, equipment, money, relationships...

A 1-2k gallon tank I believe is in the realm of possibilities for you but you won't be keeping a black tip in there (hopefully). It would still be a kick as$ tank for sure! Oh and you're still looking at a huge chunk of change but nothing in the million dollar range that a20k+ tank would cost. I'm guessing a2k tank would run in the 100k area maybe 200k depending on stocking. Keep in mind upkeep will be pricey too, probably couple hundred a month on electric, food, salt, ect.
