Ok, so i got my tank finally going took awhile but got her up n running. So after all that waiting i finally put in a fish(brown clown goby), 2 hermits and 3 snails.

So i was thinking, and have been for the longest time on which fish i would like to put in my tank. In my tank id like to have some of the following fishes, six line wrasse, PJ cardinal, Fire fish, 2 occelaris clownfish with an anemone but am concerned because id like to put in a emerald crab., Well i know that a clownfish does not need an anemone to survive with other docile fish but i would like to have to so i have something Nice to look at for me and people who see it, something that you can't just find anywhere. Something so amazing like that can just turn your senses. Well anyways i'd just like to know or if anyone has had any experiences with emrald crabs and anemones and if there okay to be in the same tank together?

and if you guys and gals have any comments about the fish i would like to put in my tank... i know i dont have the biggest tank but i dont want a lot of fish maybe like 5 for the tank that i have because i know its only about a 30 gallon and i dont want to over stock it.

    Thanks for Reading,
hope you can post your thoughts!!;D

welcome to 3reef aok. good to see another local. wait a while for an anenome, your tanks too young. and general rule of thumb is 1 inch per 3-5 gallons. depending on the type of fish.

It might be a little overstocked. Good Luck with the tank!

Yeah thats the thing i didnt want to over stock it.. but i wasnt planning on getting all those fish but those are what i was looking at..Also ive read that in a 29 gallon you can put from about 5-7 fish in the tank, but they gotta be very small in size. I was also planning on buying a book, do you guys have any recomendations?

And DIVOTT, about that anemone how far into the tank age should i wait and so i should hold off on the clownfish too to save me a lil money and get the other fish...

    thanks everyone.

You should wait a year or so before you get an anenome. You can get clowns without one. I have a pair of true percula clowns and they are doing great! They have taken to a cave.

Yep, about a year or so with the anemone. IMHO if you really want one that bad, I would only get clowns and the anemone; nothing else. Anything after that with regards to coral and fish will be at risk, specially in a smaller system if it decides to start to meander around.
With that being said, I do not see a problem with any of the fish you listed being in a 26-30 gallon tank.

Ok, so i was at the LFS and i was looking around and talking about anemone with one of the workers there, he showed me some anemone and corals and wich could work for a clownfish, well i passed by this little and when i say little i mean littlest anemone, and it looks like something that i got in my tank. Which i thought they were feather dusters, but when i saw them in the anemone tank at the store i was sure it was the same species/anemone or whatever, and ive got i think 4 of them in my tank, 3 are like no morethen a centimetre maybe a quarter inch and another is about an inch, inch and a half with its wormy fingers dangling about. So im kinda confused, i dont know what to do. they seem to be doing fine. Will they die eventually or will they thrive and survive and just chill!?... But the next time i get a chance to go the store i will ask waht the name is of the so called anemone so that i can ask you guys and get some replys about them, the only i could really say is that they look like feather dusters, with a see-thru body and the "worms" are spaced out a little, not all together like a feather duster. So any thoughts or ideas would be help ful.. oh and by the way they mustve came with the algae the guy gave me cuz they appeared after i put it in.

    thanks

Google Aiptasia. I am pretty sure that is what you are describing. They are a pest, nuisance anemone that needs to be eliminated or they will spread and completely take over your tank. I would be wary of an LFS that has tanks with numerous aiptasia. I really hope they weren't selling them!

Well i hope they werent selling them either now that i know it is something bad. But im positive i saw the little guy in one of there tanks. So i did look up what you told me that it could be and yes you were right it is aiptasia!!
Would you know the best and easiest way to get rid of it? Without disturbing my fish and the "clean up" crew i have so far?

    thanks.
