265Gal Build

Whats up people, I had been toying with a couple different tank sizes and attempted builds, none of which really got off the ground. I feel I have struck gold. I scored a RR 265 gallon system with an aqua c 240, I beleive mag 7 all bulkheads, a sump tank(not big enough=30L) and a basic 2x4 stand for under 5. I am in the process of building a canopy and will be looking to wrap and dress up that stand. I am looking forward to this build and extremely excited. I will post some pics of my canopy progress this evening. I can hardly wait to share this expeirience with everyone. Thanks again and I look forward to alot of great feedback and ideas.

265g, sounds very nice. You may want to consider strengthening the stand, im not sure how its built but 2x4's seem small to hold that much weight.

 

Sweet! I'm jealous. What a great deal. I've been wanting to upgrade, myself. I'm gonna have to wait til we move, though.

 

I have thought about that, the previous owner had it up and running for a while. I will be dressing it with some plywood and adding doors. Any suggestions?

 

good start, but I think you need more support still.

 

I myself was waiting to relocate before diving in, but I couldn't pass on this. My wife was even on board, shes not a big reefer. I almost blew it though. She was out one day when building the canopy and I decided to jigsaw 4- 18x14" holes in the face on the kitchen counter. It wasn't pretty.

 

Would you have any suggestions on how to do so.
