Does anyone no if I would need to cure my LR, it has been out of water for over a year now, would it be safe to add it to the system without any additional steps being taken?

Awesome looking tank and stand. I would just wait till the rock is in the tank to start curing it. Some believe you need to pre cure but if yu do it in the tank no shrimp is needed to start the cycle.

How soon do you think the system would cycle? Would that be considered dry rock? I do have about 40lbs of gravel and 30lbs of LR currently in a smaller tank for the last 5 years that I will be transferring as well.

I hope what you mean is a proper substrate and not gravel. LR from a running tank will defiantly help shorten it, but don't rush or you will end up spending a bunch more in the long run.

Sorry, I will most definitely be using proper substrate, I have not decided which type yet, I'm used to discussing with my wife. Any suggestions, or know a place online I can score a bunch reasonably priced?
