Anybody have lighting recommendations for a 26 gal bow front.

Would like to be able to handle most coral without worrying about being under lux.

I have only had experience with all in one sets like current satellite and orbit but they do not have compatible sizes as far as I can tell.

i would only go with t-5 or mh pc and vho are proven almost no good anymore for reef tanks, they make good suplement though, how long is the tank? if its 24" than a tek 4x24w t-5 setup would be nice or a 175w de mh with a phinix 14k bulb will be perfect

The tank dimensions are 24x15(max at bow)x21.

I am thinking metal halide like the current sunpod 24 HQI with all the led's.

Not sure of the bulb temp though. Or if the tank will have the cool actinic look with just the leds on.

2 current 96 watt power quads. what corals specifically do you want to keep?

I am not exactly sure what I want to keep but I want to be able to handle sps/lps maybe a clam down the road.

The two setups I have been looking at are the

Captive Sun 24 Inch Deluxe Lighting Fixture - 1 175w Metal Halide Bulb + 2x75w VHO Bulbs or 2x28w PC
    or
Hamilton Lighting 24'' 175w or 250w MH with 2x32w PC

I think on either set I would upgrade to 12K or 14K on the MH

Not sure if I want to go VHO or PC for the actinics or if this will be overkill on a 26gal tank. I have been thinking of going to a 36gal bow with the same fixtures.

mh then. but my power quad works fine. on a 15. 2 power quads on a 26 equates to about 7.4 watts per gallon.

for the 36 i would have the hamilton lighting 250 with the pcs atinics
